A visit
Omkoi Tungtien village and an elementary school, Uhtung village, Narhkiang village

Relief supplies and a donation
We contribute food and a donation to Omkoi Thuntien village, Uhtung village, Narhkiang village. 35 participation numbers of people.
November 20
7:00 a.m. We gathered in the Chiang Mai city and departed.
11:00 a.m. We take lunch in a town of Omkoi of the trip middle. A Thai bonze can eat only breakfast and lunch. A bonze cannot take a meal after noon.
2:00 p.m. I observe the place that was a poppy field formerly. There was a poppy field in the past, but, by a part of activity of poppy field destruction of a queen, a villager plants a seedling such as fruit and breeds a pig by assistance of a country now. The poppy field disappeared, but new life does not root, and it is the present conditions that still depend on assistance of a country for life of a villager.
4:00 p.m. We arrive at a Tungtien elementary school. We handed it relief supplies and a donation at once.
There was a big Buddhist image donated after the last visit by a person of Chiang Mai in school grounds. I talk with teachers and student and dormitory residents at the night.
Muchai and Mupu and Puwangtong which were a sixth grader entered a school of higher grade in a junior high school. However, they said that there was not money, and it might not continue being gone. I talked about this matter after returning to Chiang Mai and decided to take out a scholarship.
We decided to send a scholarship of 8000 bhats (about 22000 yen) to the excellent graduate that there was not money. A selection method or management of a scholarship are with Principal Dara and the principal of a junior high school.
In addition, they said that "we wanted to try to wear jeans" in last year. Thus I handed jeans to them and two excellent students and was able to reach Principal Dara in August, this year. About two jeans, Munarn and Prenpa which were a fifth grader seem to have received them. I had a letter of thanks.(In detail:A letter of children)
When she met this time, Munarn became thin, but she is a child keeping a smile. When I presented jeans, she was pleased very much when "I had not watched the so clean pants". When I heard junior high school entrance into a school of higher grade, she said that she might not enter a school of higher grade because there was not money. It is for them to have known a Japanese thing and the outside of a village in various ways that I was surprised. They got to know with us in last year and were interested outside a village and would take in much knowledge.
Prenpa is a very excellent child, too. She studied well. She lives in the place that was 5 kilos away from a school. Now she lives in a dormitory, but returns to the parents' house when it is the weekend.
Dara principal said that she was brought from the elementary school where there was not enough education because there were a few teachers.
Principal Dara is a true school teacher. She goes to a far-off village and brings a child with a desire to learn in her school.
In the Tungtien elementary school, there are six teachers by an effort of the principal. A student is 200 people. However, there is the elementary school where there is not enough education with one or two teachers to 200 students a lot. The most are the remote places that a teacher leaves immediately. When there is wet season, traffic is completely shut, and they must walk a bad road for hours on foot after having done it on a motorcycle until the middle of a mountain path.
Tungtien elementary school was the same several years ago, too, but Principal Dara made a fund with a donation and materials, and she called a villager and repaired a road partly, and it was not intercepted traffic even wet season.
She purchased a machine of drinking water with a contribution of last year this time. When students could take warm water and cold drinking water at pleasure, she was pleased.
It was introduced Pacalie of a third grader this time. It is a dormitory resident with a very excellent student. She takes one hour and returns to home after a school was over and does the wash and care of children and returns to a dormitory again at the night. It was impressive that her expression was expressionless firmly and I wore only a short-sleeved shirt and was stained at night and wore a thin blanket. I could unclothe the jacket which my child wore and handed it.
According to the principal, the thing that was the best by the last visit is for teachers to have been encouraged not only a student was pleased. Hardship of teachers was known nobody till we came and seems to have had a feeling of ineffectualness. However, it was recognized hardship of teachers a little by we and people of a town of Chiang Mai having come, and a great interest seems to have appeared in what was known to the outside world. When it was more valuable than money, the Principal Dara was thanked for.

The principal said that ice cream was good when I heard hope of next support. Children know ice cream in books. However, it is not that it touched that most children saw having eaten ice cream. She seems to want to let children eat it because they are good once.
I met mother of around 15 years old that sat on a child for one month after life before returning. There was not father of a child and did not yet do registration in nationality either and suffered from dermatopathia. This mother was the youngest child of 11 brothers and enough education does not seem to have been popular. I have thought whether why she lived in future. I decided to dispatch a doctor in Tungtien village nearby because there was not a doctor, and I handed expense.
We stayed among Tungtien elementary schools in the same way as the last time, and we departed to the next elementary school at 8:00 a.m. of the next day.

November 21
At 10:00 a.m., it is come by Uhtung elementary school which is the second visit. I handed it a donation and support supplies at once.
Facilities and environment were more better than Tungtien, and there was a doctor, too, but, as for the children, there were many children of a bare foot. And there was the child who brought a big aluminum plate and spoon when children gathered. I imagined refugees for an instant. There was milk in the supplies which they distributed to children, and the children were delight. Some children seem to have drunk some milk once previously.

I stayed for 30 minutes and departed to Narhkiang village which was the third visit. There are manners and customs to make farming with an elephant in this village.
The distance to this village is really bad. There was the road which ran over a log built over a river by car and was very dangerous. It is this state by the good time of a climate. If it is wet season, you must walk for hours on foot from the middle of a road.
In a Narhkiang elementary school, the teacher was principal alone for 200 students. There seem to have been four teachers, but they leave it, and supplement seems to be the state that does not come. Only the facilities were clean, but there seems to be little support from a country. Only a Thai national flag fluttered, but was not able to think that it was a Thai state.

Thank you I was able to send a donation and support supplies. I thank you and I cooperate and still ask. In addition, I raise one having you assist studies costs to graduation of a junior high school as a foster parent about a scholarship.
